We have a new Peugeot Expert van, A Nokia E71 phone and a TomTom 520t.

The plan was to load MP3 music onto the TomTom and get it to talk to the Bluetooth on the Peugeot radio so the nav instructions and the music can be played via the in car speakers. The phone and van talk to each other and calls can be made and answered using the control stalk but the TomTom won’t seem to communicate with the van. Any suggestions anybody ?

As far as i know connecting to your phone is as far as the bluetooth capability's of the tom tom go. I'm not even sure if its possible to play MP3's over a blue tooth connection, i may be wrong though.

Does the van have a line in socket? You could use that, or the FM transmitter in the TomTom instead.

The Bluetooth fitted as standard tends to only allow connections for handsfree use of a phone, the TT requires a Bluetooth Hi-Fi device which some aftermarket head units have.

The Tom Tom has an FM transmitter in it ! Perhaps we should read the instructions.
