Hi,

Just bought a 3 series coupe (E92 2006)with professional sat nav. I've seen a picture that uses the full screen (when in map mode or radio, etc )on an advert but can't get it to work on mine. I've sussed how to use the assistance window but when I close it the window just goes to a BLANK SCREEN, wasting nearly half the screen...pls can anyone help,

Cheers,

D

You cannot - the best you can do is to have your map on the left and something else useful on the right (I have 'Computer' on the right, and when navigating arrows come up there at junctions).

One of the improvements in the new version of idrive introduced in September 2008 production is that you can have the map full screen.

My Z4 has a button directly below the CD slot which switches between display modes - the other option is to go to the settings and change the view to full instead of split.

Does what you can do vary according to the model? I ask this because on my 2004 X5, I certainly can choose between a split and full screen display.

I did not think X5's had idrive back then? Isn't that the 'old' BMW system which used a smaller screen? If so, quite different from an E92.
