Is there a good sat-nav unit that has the following features:

Fixed cameras
Mobile speed traps, lasers etc
UK and Euro maps
Traffic warnings and re-routing

I think that's all I was after

Or am I better off with two units and if so, what?

Cheers

http://www.pogogps.com/pogodrive.htm

Does almost all that you require with one of if not the best camera database out there barring the traffic updates. The nav maps are automatically updated as part of the package along with the 2 yrs warranty.

Otherwise I would recommend a tomtom but it depends whether you want one or two devices on your dash as with tomtom i would recommend a seperate scamera unit possibly as i have a vague recollection of people saying the tomtom scamera database/system wasnt that great.

I would agree. TomTom is a great sat nav but not good at speed camera warnings. The Pogodrive is a good option, everything you need in one box or maybe the new Talisman from Novus this is a TomTom upgrade software package, but I think this is for older TomTom units at the moment and due out next week.
My option would be the PogoDrive, I would avoid the Road Angel options, the navigation is not that good.

Add the database from here@ http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cam... to the satnav of your choice.

The Pogo is no longer available. They were taken over by RoadAngel who offer a decent albeit IMO ugly unit (looks suited to a 1970's Datsun).

I have heard that there is an excellent new product coming onto the market late this summer.

Hello i am new here and only found this place whilst searching for the same thing as the original poster
on this thread , as the thread is a little dated i am just curious if anyone has an update on the best sat-nav at the moment to cover these requirements ?
I am gathering points on my license at an alarming rate by falling foul of the camera vans .

Thanks

Check out PocketGpsWorld. They offer a £20 subscription to camera locations which can be downloaded and installed on a wide array of devices.

I tried that. Downloaded onto an app on my IPhone which connected to the car via Bluetooth. All that worked very well but the database was to extensive IMO. The warnings were constant, just about every location a tally van or plod had ever been so I ended up ignoring most of the warnings.

That'd be the "pmobile" files which are suspected/unproven sites. Delete those and the number of false warnings decreases, although they're still there.

I turned the unverified sites off (using the camera alert app) but there were still far too many false warnings.

Fair enough. As far as I can tell PocketGPSWorld does not delete old mobile sites, which does create the risk of too many false warnings (meaning that you start ignoring them after a while, which isn't great on the occasions when the warning actually turns out to be real).

Spot on. For that reason I don't find PocketGPSWorld fit for purpose.

Do alternatives exist without forking out for a Road Angel?
