I'm after a new satnav and was looking at the Tomtom Go Live range. Tomtom's website suggests only the 940 has ipod control, FM Transmitter etc but was in Curry's earlier playing with what was supposedly the 540 and it definitely had an iPod option?

So, are the 540/740/940 all the same except for the maps, or are there other differences?

Also, does anyone know if these work with the iPhone for handfree?

Lastly, are there any better Satnavs for under £300 that have bluetooth handsfree?

Cheers

Christ almighty, £300 for a tomtom?

Buy a parrot mki9200 and add ipod functions, aux input, SD card reader and usb card reader for £200

Spend the last £100 on a basic tomtom.

Advantage is you dont need your tomtom to listen to music if you know where you'er going.

Thanks for the feedback but I can't really see the advantage of buying loads of bits of kit which need installing, and ending up with a basic satnav, when I could have it all in one removable system and a better sat nav for the same money?

If you want to go somewhere and you know where you're going, then you don'tneed to put the satnav up, the sound quality will also be miles better with the parrot.

Also, a basic tomtom will function exactly the same as an advanced one, you can also just upgrade the basic one to have lane guidance, iq routes etc.
