Location problem - tomtom

I was using my tomtom unit on Saturday to get me from Stansted to Stranaer which is did fantastically well. I turned it off as I was at the boat and no longer needed it, now that I'm back in Belfast I've turned it on again and it still thinks I'm in Stranaer - it says waiting for GPS signal? Is there a way to reset it without loosing your saved preferences?

I have never had that problem, mine has found itself pretty quickly after flights, for example. If the unit has not frozen, I suggest just giving it a bit longer with a good view of the sky. If it has frozen, there is a reset button (paperclip through a little hole on the bottom). Using this does not lose your preferences.
