I have a Roadangel sat nav system which warns you about speed cameras and is also updated by users regarding safety camera vans and mobile units.
The downside is to keep it up to date you have to update via the internet and it costs £3.99 per month.

Looking for something similar - cant for the life of me understand why you would buy just a camera detector when they seem to be about the same price point

I use a Garmin i3 (now out of date) with the pocketgpsworld.com camera database for £20 per year.
Their database works on a huge range of satnav devices.

I bought a TomTom 730 in April, £225 from Amazon including 2 years free map updates. I have just returned from a 4 week holiday touring France. The TT was faultless except on one occasion when it directed us along a one-way street,(common sense prevailed). The TT also has safety camera detection, which identified every camera, here and in France.
