SAT NAV PROBLEM E46 BMW 2003

The wifes car has a standard sat nav which up until four weeks was fine. Then, the screen displayed the message "please insert disc" yet the sat nav disc was in all the time. I have cleaned the unit but that has not worked. I really need help as this is my wifes car and she finds it difficult enough just to get to the local shop without sat nav - Any ideas at all?

Disconnect battery for 1/2 hour so the systems can re-set. Should be good to go. If not then you may be seeing the demise of your Nav computer.

Make sure the Nav computer has powered down completely before disconnecting i.e. the red light has gone out.
