Hey all,

Is anyone familiar with the Tomtom repair procedures here?

Last October I bought my mum and dad the above (as a christmas present really, but they were going in november) to make European driving easy. It worked brilliantly, they loved it.

It packed up a few months ago - would not turn on dad said. So I had a look at it, played around, charged it for ages, pressed the power button for 15 secs etc. looked at the resolution steps on tomtom.com site, connected it to PC - nothing worked. It remained dead. I admitted defeat. I sent it to Tomtom, and have just got it back. The diagnosis? "No Fault Found". I tried to turn it on, and it presented me with the screens you get when it's brand new and you turn it on for the first time - language selection etc.

I phoned them up, there were no further details on their repair database that what was printed on the paper included with the returned item - "No fault found". The lady I spoke to couldn't offer any advice on how they reset it.

They obviously did something to reset it - does anyone know what?

You did of course press the reset button with a pin before you sent it off?

I'd love you to be right, and me to just be an idiot, as it would solve the problem; but no. I had a good look before sending it off, and there isn't one. At least, not without removing the sticker...? Could it be under there? It doesn't look tampered with.

If you look where the base plugs in, just above, there is a small orifice that take a pin or similar.
