Numpty Question - How to update map Garmin Nuvi 250

Have had the Nuvi 250 for a couple of years and its keeps saying the map needs updating.

Whats the easiest way to update ???

Have you found it to be a problem - found yourself driving "off road" on the garmin screen? (I have, a couple of times!) If not I wouldn't bother.. but if you want to you have to pay for new maps. £72.99 to buy the latest map, or £100 for lifetime updates. Lifetime of the unit that is, not you, but note that the small print says that a lifetime means "until your product’s useful life expires or Garmin no longer receives map Data from NAVTEQ, whichever is shorter". Garmin's agreement with Navteq expires in 2015, who knows if that will be extended or not, most likely it will. And I've no idea who gets to determine what the "useful life" of a product is - they could at some point say that your satnav is no longer supported as it's too old..

Choose an option though and then go here and follow the instructions, it will tell you to plug in your garmin via USB to determine which map updates are suitable. Then I believe it's just a case of paying the money and downloading the map.
