I have a Garmin Zumo and I seem to struggle a bit with the search. A postcode is easy but yesterday I really couldn’t find Portimao Circuit on MapSource – if you don’t get the name just right it doesn’t want to know and yet Google Maps took seconds.

If I find something in Google Earth, is it possible to pull it back as a waypoint into MapSource?

Is there an online resource of waypoint databases?

TIA

Garmin tend to refer to them as POI (Point Of Interest) files and have a list of them on their site : http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/POISourc...

You need to get their POI loader to use them (free download)

Type N37 13.035 W8 37.556 into your Zumo or Mapsource and you should find the place you're looking for;) You can then mark it as a waypoint.
It's about 10 miles from Portimao.
