Hi All!

I am looking to get a new Sat Nav and have a budget of £70-80. Can anyone advise me as to which brands to stay away from or do you have first hand experience of a good one?

I am thinking of maybe getting a fairly cheap device and maybe downloading the TomTom software for it. This one seems good value...

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've got one of those - you get what you pay for. It will get you there but not always by a sensible route. Eg coming back from a conference back up to N yorks, the quickest way is M1 - M18 - A1. For the entire length of the M18 it kept telling me to turn around and go back to the M1.

That said I have no experience of Tom Tom et al, so they may be just as bad.

Got a smartphone?

If so, try http://www.alk.eu.com/

For £30 its pretty much a no brainer.
