Thanks brisel - most of those roads are in the routes, but I'm now thinking that Cerne Abbas is just a bit too far after all.

I'm assuming on this that adherence (or not) to speed limits will be a choice that the driver will make at the time....?

There's a high proportion of quiet NSL roads on the routes, but they're arranged so there's plenty of time to get round while maintaining strict legality.

How you actually drive it will be up to you - it's probably best to sound out your passengers before doing anything too unusual though.

By coincidence we came up from Poole today, through Blandford, to meet someone in Shaftsbury, and I have to say a lot of the roads were nonsense 40 & 50 limits. Even some NSLs seemed slow, too....

I'm guessing that was on the main A-roads, rather than the more interesting B-road alternatives. All NSL where we're going:

That looks like the B3081 heading away from Zig Zag Hill towards Tollard Royal...

I did some advanced motorcycle riding on those roads a few years back - you'll have a cracking time.

Top Marks to Señor G for organising. I'd love to attend but sadly not around that weekend. Any other local opportunities I'd love to hear about though.

It may be worth noting a third person in my car is a squeeze at best. I can't see S Gonzales Esq. fitting comfortably, for example. hehe

Number of seats in the car is one of the questions I'll be asking shortly, and not just for reasons of my personal comfort - honest.

I am considering coming, but i have a stag do that evening.
I passed my IAM when i was 18, but havnt done anything advanced driving related since.
A combination of spotty faced 20 year old, a dashboard with some warning lights and 400hp to play with may not make for the most pleasant passenger ride. driving

On the "test" part of the IAM i was congratulated on my commentary drive. So perhaps i could provide an example? (if im not too rusty?)

I would also like some guidance as to observation leading up to an overtake, as this is something ive never had, but would like to have.

Just coming along for the morning would be an option - failing that we're usually done before 5pm.

Overtaking help should be available - I know from experience that powerful cars make overtakes quicker, but can also get you into trouble quickly.

It looks like I'll need to do some weekend testing for work, and I'm pretty sure using a customer's development car for this would get me in trouble.
