I'm not bullying you, I'm simply pointing out that you are wrong. You have yet to post one single scenario where a seven second gap on a motorway is required.

And so it begins again...

That might be because, unlike you, I can't predict what is going to happen on-road and don't have any maths to back up any categorical statements...

You should have stuck to retiring gracefully wink

Said the only one in this thread to not only have to concede he didn't know what the highway code braking distance was, but to be out by more than double it. I can't believe you're still at this...

I was brought back in and am still being prompted to carry on posting.

Yes I did get the stopping distance wrong, what has that to do with it?

MY argument is over two seconds being enough.

Whatever the stopping distance was you still said to follow at that distance was wrong, in spite of what HC said.

If you don't know how long it takes to stop how can you know how large a gap you need to leave?

I had done that. Why keep addressing posts at me?

I had two standpoints,

one my large gap and the legality of it...Sorted.

two, adding in something a little more safe than two seconds, Toltec said 4, I was happy with that.

Now I'm a the stage when I'm just gonna ignore this thread.

You come in saying you need a gap of x with the stopping distance being y. You then find out it's 1/2y and still maintain a gap of x. What does that have to do with it? Well, it shows that (i) you're not really in a position to throw stones on the subject and (ii) the gap you've suggested isn't based upon physics but something more akin to religion.

Your argument used to be in favour of 7 seconds, glad to hear you're conceding that now.

They're all words, but I can't read that.

Because you either quote or mention me, I'm the sort who always replies... The thing is, if you ignore it it will just wither and die, if you keep waking it up it will never go away.

I do know because I quickly checked up on it and corrected my mistake, that was about 5 pages ago!

Now let's just fking leave it eh?

You say I'm wrong/illegal/mlm/notAD fine, I agree to differ.

Now say what you like about me and what I've said but don't quote my posts as they appear as replies when I sign in, and I post again.

There will be no further apology because you have made me come back in.
So definitely don't quote this post?

Oops! Now you've done it - you've started a new page. He's told us on every page since page 2 that he's not going to post any more. I don't imagine he'll let page 12 get away without the same treatment...

I left a post in your thread about your E39 engine fault, you should really get that fixed if it dies on the motorway it might cause an accident, someone could get their maths wrong and slam dunk you!...

I dunno you 'advanced' drivers!

PS: I noticed a complete lack of any posting in any AD threads, this one being the exception. You didn't answer my query about your most recent AD test either.

Have a look at my post on the E39 thread, It'll more than likely be I'm right...and it isn't even nasty!

If it dies it'll only come to a rest as fast as physics allow thumbup

I would come up with a scenario where a muppet in a fked BM dies in lane 3 and my large gap saves your life, and I'm able to stop and apply my hazards from a safe distance from you to warn others, but I won't!

Actually most of my scenarios did allude to a driver who's vehicle was in less than perfect running order didn't they? Hmmm...

By all means let us investigate this scenario...

PS, the car's fixed, no need to bump threads.

Oh.
