Guys I'm really sorry but I will also have to pull out. MOT failed on emissions and I can't get a booking for a new cat until next week. The old certificate doesn't expire until monday but I shouldn't really be driving it. It's a fair way to travel and the risk of an unfriendly tug is a little too great.

Absolutely gutted, couldn't make the last one either.

Just as well there'll be 20-something ADUK members there, otherwise it'd just be me and LordGrover driving repeatedly up and down Zig Zag hill. hehe

Well, I had a good day - good drives through great scenery, on quiet roads with just enough people to overtake.

Just a shame that in the end there were no attendees from PH.

So why does this activity appeal to folk who take part in ADUK, not to those who take part here?

It is an interesting contrast to car specific sections of Pistonheads, where a thread on an Aston Martin meet is currently heading for 200 attendees!

I reckon that those here who are interested in this activity have or will eventually head over to ADUK; people are pointed in that direction often enough.

I suspect that only a tiny fraction of those interested in advanced driving are keen to continue learning after passing a test, or to practise by driving with others.

It's clear that many many more people are interested in cars than in driving, let alone the formalised style we think of as advanced driving.
