Slow down, take a deep breath and go with it for a while.
Relax.
I would access if the overtaking is necessary, like if I'm going to turn off soon or near my destination.

Overtaking is a skill set to have. It is one examined on in any advanced driving test. I find if I'm out of practice, my overtaking becomes rusty, like many other aspects of my skills.

Not the other side of this incident, given the op posted back in August.

Relax.
You sound like you're bringing too much stress and impatience to your overtaking. Slow down, take a deep breath, relax and - when the opportunity presents - drive past and carry on with your day. A good overtake is one of the most satisfying, calming things in driving smile.
Certainly not the overtaking that I have witnessed over the easter weekend. Too fast, too close, near oncoming traffic etc. Words f

Overtaking is overtaking, however it is negotiated.

What on Earth are you talking about? Are you trolling or just an idiot?

All overtakes are the same?

I literally cannot remember ever having upset anyone with an overtake!

exactly

a 'boomerang / banana' on a clear road or a properly executed roadcraft overtake when there is an opossing vehicle with space after is stress free for all involved ...

No doubt. Plenty of overtakes aren't executed well, including the preparation. So don't overtake like that. If your response to the fact that some people don't do overtaking very well is to decide not to do overtaking yourself, that's an awful lot of your own baby you're throwing out with other people's bath water.

Plenty of people do not plan or execute their motorway joins very well. Do you therefore advocate not driving on motorways?

That doesn't make any sense. First you criticise some particular instances of overtaking on the basis of how they were negotiated, then you suggest that how it's negotiated isn't important. You're contradicting yourself. I would ask you to clarify your point but I'm not sure you know what it is.

I know the road very well and it can be a nightmare.
I use to occasionally drive over with my dad in his citroen c1.
Basically I didn't bother with overtakes till the duel carriageway!
If ever in the wife's Polo I'd usually let the faster cars go and then follow if I could...
In the RS6 however, it usually had enough poke to either follow someone then zip past them as well or take the lead.

It can be annoying when a slower car pulls out but hardly the end of the world and usually a few places to get past if you really need to.

Some people are just to impatient.
More to life than worrying about a few minutes shaved here n there.
