For info, the numnuts that over took me on the roundabout went completed wrong side ..
Met another idiot on a mini roundabout last week. Quite area, not much traffic,

I am waiting to enter from 6 to exit at 3

Mr Idiot waiting at 12 to exit at 9

Car on the roundabout from 9 indicating right, I assumed he was going to eix at 6, where I was exiting Tescos. In fact he is doing a 180.

As he passes idiot entering from 12, idiot decides to cut straight across the roundabout on his side to exit at 9, realises (fortunately) the other car is doung a 180, managed to stop inches from the other drivers offside.

It's situations like that which cause the highway code to suggest avoiding u-turns at mini roundabouts. People really don't expect them.

Didnt know that, whats it say about cutting the middle bitout altogether. This was an isolated incident I am sure, but it does illistrate that we do have some idiots on our roads, not that we didnt already know that. Righty ho off to recap on mini roundaboits.

And a big thank you to all Aberdonians who STILL DONT KNOW WHEN A BUS LANE IS A BUS LANE, it made my drive down Union Street stress free this morning, a lane to my lonesome. biggrin

From https://www.gov.uk/using-the-road-159-to-203/round...

Highway Code said:
Mini-roundabouts. Approach these in the same way as normal roundabouts. All vehicles MUST pass round the central markings except large vehicles which are physically incapable of doing so. Remember, there is less space to manoeuvre and less time to signal. Avoid making U-turns at mini-roundabouts. Beware of others doing this.
The must wording means there is a specific law; it is covered in TSRGD:

TSRGD said:
A vehicle entering the junction must give priority to vehicles coming from the right at the transverse road marking shown in diagram 1003.3 associated with the sign or, if the marking is not for the time being visible, at the junction; and

(b)a vehicle proceeding through the junction must keep to the left of the white circle at the centre of the marking shown in diagram 1003.4, unless the size of the vehicle or the layout of the junction makes it impracticable to do so; and

(c)no vehicle shall proceed past the marking shown in diagram 1003.4 in a manner or at a time likely—

(i)to endanger any person, or

(ii)to cause the driver of another vehicle to change its speed or course in order to avoid an accident.
So strictly if you clip the white circle in a car you could be prosecuted (presumably for careless driving). I don't think it is often enforced though.

For disobeying a traffic sign, I'd have thought.

Seems daft saying "avoid" in the HC, so you can do it, but try not to, gobbly gooch me thinks.
