Just read it cover to cover and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's reassuring to know that the advanced training I received 35 years ago has not deserted me but looks like I could do with taking your advice on critical self-analysis to re-hone!

Oh, and on the subject of proof reading there is a single outbreak of 'license' at the end of the chapter on skid control wink
Good grief - I can't believe I missed that one. Especially as my day job is Licensing Manager and I probably write the word "licence" at least 10 times a day. I blame over-reliance on spell-checker!

If you've enjoyed the book (or even if you haven't!) could I please ask that you take 5 minutes to submit a review on Amazon?

Cheers.

Mrs Local has just texted me to let me know that this arrived in the post this morning:

I'll do my best to proof read it and make any necessary corrections over the next couple of days and - fingers crossed - it should be available via Amazon by the weekend.

I've proof-read the print copy, made a few amendments and uploaded the amended file to Createspace for approval.

All things being equal, it should be available to buy via Createspace tomorrow evening, and via Amazon within a few days at £9.99. I'm very pleased with the quality - the cover is glossy and well-made and the paper is as good as anything you'd buy from Waterstones. Interior pics are black and white to keep the cost down, but the quality of the pictures is pretty good.

Quick update - I've uploaded my corrections to the print version and approved it for sale.

It's now available directly from the Createspace bookstore here:

https://www.createspace.com/5325093

It will also be availabe from Amazon within - according to Createspace - 3 to 5 days. The Createspace site is American and I've never used it to buy books, so I'm unsure about shipping costs or delivery times.

If anyone does choose to buy through Createspace, could you please let me know how you get on?

I'll update again when it's live on Amazon.

That was quicker than I expected!

The paperback version is now available via Amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Advanced-Performance-Drivi...

They seem to be offering some reasonably quick delivery options too.

Hey, Pages 166 and 167 illustrated a couple of replies above, I was driving up that section of road on Saturday and thought "where have I seen that approach to a bend somewhere before?"

Well, paperback duly delivered and review posted on Amazon. It feels weighty in the hand and comes across as a quality item - just like the author (quality, that is...)!

Thanks for everyone's support!

The ebook is back at number 1 again, ahead of some amateurs I've never heard of:

Just checked Amazon and they're running an offer price on the paperback version - it's currently reduced from £9.99 to £8.87 if anyone wants to grab a bargain.

My apologies to anyone whho's already paid full price - this is an Amazon offer & nothing to do with me.

I've not been in here for years. I think I stopped checking regularly when you stopped posting new topics every few days.

I've already learned so much from you, but I think there's still a long way to go. So, I've added it to my birthday list. thumbup

Partway into the paperback now - very nicely written, and MrsSE is reading it too... Thank you Reg!

I have just read the Kindle version of the book and found it to be a very informative and enjoyable read that gave me plenty to consider.

I recently took part in my first ADUK driving day and I think I was trying too hard due to nervousness and was as Reg describes "tense" and my drive suffered. Now that I have read the book I think I will be better prepared for the next one as well as helping me to improve my day to day driving.

Definitely a worthwhile purchase. Recommended.

Is the Kindle version identical to the paperback in that it contains any photographs or is it text only?

It has the photos, but to be honest it's difficult to see much detail on my paperwhite. Doesn't detract from the contecmt though - still a great source.
