I would expect advanced drivers to have a decent set of tyres on their motor at the very least. And hopefully pump them up.

I've got 2 nexens on the back, a hifly on the front
Yes, the Nexens may well be better than the cheap tat on the front, but a premium tyre? Are you serious?

As for daily driver, what has that to do with the price of fish?
You never know when you might need to throw out the anchors or make an emergency evasive manoeuvre in wet conditions.

The price differential between budget and premium on a pair of tyres is usually less than a couple of tanks of fuel.
I don't understand some people's value system. My life is worth more to me than that.

I made the mistake of putting Nexens on the back of my wife's MX5 and after much head scratching and complaining from her I took the car out and realised that the handling was SHOCKING due to the tyre change - the difference in dry and wet traction between those and the well worn Bridgestones they replaced was gobsmacking!!! The car was a tail happy danger with Nexens on the back and the problem instantly went away with Bridgestones restored to the rear!

Im not against budget tyres all round but be under no illusion that you do only get what you are paying for!

One of my front tyres needs replacing and the other one is nearly new. The nearly new tyre is a budget tyre. Do I replace the worn tyre with the same budget tyre as the nearly new one or buy premium tyre so one would be a budget and one a premium?

Thanks
always replace tyres on the same axle at the same time if you can, with matching brands/quality.

you dont want tyres that react differently in the wet, going left youre fine but when you turn right your cheap tyre slides.

buy cheap usually means buying twice, get a good tyre and itll last you longer if youre not chewing up the road with burnouts etc.

I don't get why people go for budget linglong tyres. The cheapest for my size fitment are £65 per tyre, Avon's are only £66 per tyre. Why go with a naff tyre for the sake of £4?

I will never forget the atrocious noise and handling (spun the back out accidentally in the rain at low speed in 330ci) of the Nankang NS-2's which were brand new on my BMW from the dealer who sold it. NANKANG = fkING TERRIBLE.
