Ditto for those who accelerate as soon as you start to overtake after happily driving at 20mph below the speed limit for miles on end. This is why powerful cars are safer. I have a very safe car.
Yep. Being able to out-accelerate a car in gear that tries to stop you from overtaking is much safer then being left hung out to dry. It's only happened once in my new car but being able to just stamp on the accelerator and go past when they were trying to block me made me feel pretty good! haha

I sometimes do it in the car. When there are no hazards, but the line is too long to pass in one go, I will overtake several and then indicate to pull in. If the gap is too small, I will wait for it to be extended.
Surely that's a bit of a risky strategy?

What happens if a hazard appears and the gap has not been 'extended'?

I haven't explained well. I won't commit if I can't see that there will be room to get back in, but very occasionally, I might have to "squeeze" myself back in. I can think of one occasion when I had to do so.
