Reg,

If you are behind a car doing 55mph on a single carriageway NSL road, with short straights/periods of visibility do you just tune in to Terry Wogan and light your pipe?

(or do you use the power that Bayer Motor Werk has endowed you with and nip past at xxmph?)

Just curious........

This is an interesting point, even if you don't literally light a pipe when following slower traffic, there is a great temptation to think that you don't need to concentrate so hard. Arguable you need to concentrate more because not only do you have to allow for what the slower vehicle might do, your forward vision is to some extent restricted.

I always make a point of looking for overtakes whenever I catch someone up. Apart from being an added incentive to read the road ahead of the vehicle in front, it discourages me from getting too close.
