I'm going to be in a position to film some decent quality video footage over a couple of days in late August, thanks to a friend of mine who has some decent kit. I'll put something together which covers some of the basic aspects of cornering that I've covered in previous posts, and possibly another video on overtaking, as the last one was shockingly wobbly.

Has anyone any other requests?

It doesn't specifically have to be a subject that I've covered yet in my articles, and I'll have some access to a circuit on one day, which may be useful.

All requests will be considered.

What would interest me would be Motorway driving under busy conditions.
Similarly, single carriageway A roads with those interminable nose to tail LGV followers.

Seconded for heavy motorway traffic.

Anything on congested city driving would be invaluable. Looking forward to seeing the results.

This sounds basic, but if you can squeeze it in, I'd love to see a piece about turning into a side road without any brake-gear overlap. I struggle, and always feel like it's rushed. Other than that, I'm looking forward to seeing the overtaking section. Do you have a link to the old footage, btw? I'm a new face here, and would love to see it.

Thanks,

Erd

No problem.

Overtaking demo is here...

And the original overtaking post is here...

And here is a very wobbly cornering demo...

I should be able to produce some much better footage this time.

Even more basic, and yet possibly 1 of the most overlooked parts in motoring is how to get the diving postition and mirror arrangement right.

As already mentionned Reg, but add in roudabouts and straightlining bends. I'm looking forward to the new clips :-)

An example of some commentary driving would be good.

If possible, I would love to see the basic steering techniques, like Pull&Push and rotational steering, how they are done correctly.

A slight bit of comentary could asist those taking note.
Just to explain the safe aspects of cornering and why you are in the position you are.
But above all the basic principles.

I'd like to see the difference between a police advanced drive and a response police advanced drive.

Nice. Thanks. thumbup

I'll bookmark it to order the whole set in a short while, I might the 101 tips for defensive driving too at £3.50 that looks like money well spent, may even order a few extras for friends and family.

I have all the DVDs and they are very good, excellent in fact. The latest is, in my very humble opinion, the weakest so far, but still very good. I also know that Mark has re-edited the last DVD to address some of the criticisms. Well worth the purchase price.

But of course, I'm really looking forward to RULOCAL's video clips! smilesmile

I got that for free when they sent mine out, but then again the first one had been nicked by stigmund's girlfriend.

Hopefully, using an unmarked vehicle?

I think people seem to drive "better" around marked up vehicles.
