Hi there,

Just wanted some of your opinions on this, with you chaps having done this or other bits before...

I've just bought an old tvr wedge. I've ridden fast bikes for a few years, but this is my first quickish car (Had a volvo t5 and a 535i sport but not quite the same!)... and feel that right now I'd really benifit from some advanced training.

Does the skills for life programme cover car handling skills at all? Would I look like a pillock turning up in a TVR (its my only car so don't really have an option) I'm wanting something thats going to give me the oppertunity to safely use the cars power and handling on the roads.

Would I be better off saving up for a performance driving session?> the advanced test is something I quite fancy doing anywau to improve safty/lower insurance. Im 23 so insurance still stings a bit and I feel I could benifit alot from it.

btw I live in east yorkshire, dont know if it makes any difference?

Thanks in advance!
Greg

Definitely worth doing IMO. I got so much more out of it than I thought I would. There's not so much handling - as in on the limit - more of how to make good progress without getting to the limit. Techniques such as reading roads, limit point, cornering properly etc.

For £85 (£75 or £65 if under 25) there's not much out there that's better value.

No probs with the tiv, one associate at my group has an old V12 jag!

Highly recommended.

Not quite in the same league but I did all my Observed drives but one at 17 and a couple of months in my 106 Quiksilver - everyone liked the car, even though it was a b***h to drive!
