As my GF uses the car an aftermarket system was fitted and that has totally transformed the car, making it impossible to `misread` the conditions.
Tell us more - who does aftermarket ESP systems? What is involved in installation? Does it use all the standard car's components but just change the software?

The tuning of ESP systems is now critical to how cars handle, so it makes sense for aftermarket experts to get involved - if they can do a better job than the manufacturer experts.

Company in question is racelogic.

Not really ESP just traction control, it wont apply brakes or such like.

But it will control engine power via fuel cut to a fine degree and in a heartbeat.

Its hardwired in to the std ABS system and has 27 settings from dry to wet.

And an awesome launch control facility.

(Which the dealer who fitted the car will be trying at Santa Pod next week)

PM me if you want to know more.

I recently had the Haldex Performance Control upgrade fitted to my R32...these are my findings...

"Had this upgrade fitted by APS at beginning of December, whether it is worth it or not depends on your driving style and road conditions. Personally I feel it has reduced the understeer and improved predictability - oddly enough I feel the car is safer than with the standard device - as to if it is worth the money, that is a different matter.

One issue I had with standard controller was that way it would transfer power quite abruptly to the rear, whereas the upgraded one has already started pushing power to the rear before you notice the power transfer. Example, if I were to boot it on a surface where I was likely to loose traction, the abrupt transfer of the original control would throw the arse end about, but the new one doesn't"
