I'm confused, was marcusrx8's comment serious or tongue in cheek? He feels bad if he uses the brakes?

In some advanced motoring groups, using the brakes is regarded as a sign of weakness. It shows a lack of observation of hazards and such.

On the motorway I tend to feel that using brakes is some sort of 'emergency' action. You should be far enough behind, and observant enough of, any traffic ahead so that merely backing off the throttle loses you enough to maintain adequate distance.

Or you could try dipping the clutch.......

Excellent! Let me know which ones so I can avoid them. Actually better still, let me know who they are and I'll go and do some handbrake ratcheting for them biggrin
