There's a bend in the road 40-50m before the junction, I'm turning my lights on prior to that bend.

Again I'm not slowing when I'm in sight of those at the junction and I'd like to stress that these have been near misses, such that they have tried to pull out through me rather than in front of me.

It's most likely that I'm concealed by their A-pillar, as most are straining their heads forwards to see what's coming in the opposite direction.

N.B. I hadn't been turning my lights on for any of the near misses, so they were not pulling out having seen it as an invitation.
Also I was doing a steady 40mph for all 3 incidents.

Haha hehe

I'd be lying if I hadn't thought that I should have just crashed into them after. Get me a nice new car on their insurance.

Have you mentioned this to the local council highways department so that an engineer can look at the junction if it's proving problematic ?
Sorry Von what an ideal world you live in.

I live on a B road which has multiple accidents practically outside my front door every year and noone, repeat noone is interested.

I guess we`ll have to wait untill someone is killed, unless of course you can helpsmile

Rather depends on what causes the accidents though.

In a way I quite like the 'brain switched off' moments when you discover you've trained your reflexes to do the right thing without having to think. Obviously thinking about a situation is better, but you don't always have time.

I had one a couple of years back, coming round a long sweeping corner at ~75 km/h on a gravel road I knew fairly well and hit ice halfway round. I wasn't going fast for that corner before hitting the ice, but on reflection I should have expected some there being permanently shaded by trees.

Anyway as the car went into an understeery 4-wheel drift my brain was busy going slow-motion on me and saying something along the lines of 'oh bugger, I'm going into the ditch and its gonna cost me some money' while at the same time my right foot involuntarily planted itself on the accelerator, swinging the understeer into a big, smooth drift which I held (still reflexively) until I was out of the corner, where I slowed down and took things very gently for the rest of the trip.

Practise pays off when you really need it.

Interesting response, care to expand, as I`m at a loss to see how your comment justifies inaction by the relevent authorities.
