finished relocating the column

used all the original parts, other than a new spherical bearing,

made up a fibreglass mount for the bearing, and bonded in situ

Steve, I have an LS Tam - happy to pass on information I have found out about bits and pieces.

The two things most pressing for me are to heat protect my soon to be rebuilt starter motor (heat shroud around £40), and to wrap the headers...

Don thanks. Any info will help! I had heard that the proximity for the starter was a potential issue. I have a gm Ls starter heat shield somewhere I will have to dig out for a test fit

Spent the weekend messing with cam and springs for the tam engine. Won't bore you with specs but looking to get around 480 from the combination Also still keen to see if I can use the 6060 I have (same as griff) as the gear change is nice compared to Tko I've had before

I ended up with a Thermotec heat shroud. I'll report back as soon as I get the motor back, fitted and all working again!

I'll also put together a little thread for anyone interested - I took some phones to remind myself how it came out, so it would be a shame to waste them! biggrin

Apart from that, as long as a contract or two comes off, I'll be sending mine to Topcats for a decent six speed box, and the GM throttle/ECU instead of Emerald. IF not, I'll just soldier on with what it is until I've saved enough coppers!

On the assumption that the colour scheme is the same, I'll let them know the next time I speak to them so they can start to choose sunglasses

Tamora is looking good BTW Steve - any thoughts on LS engine spec yet? (may have missed it on the thread)

It's an ls2 block ls3 heads and inlet cam is Texas-Speed cam spec, 235/239 .639/.623 springs are comp 926 emerald ecu. Should do about 480

It'll have a little lope at idle but not too much

The lobes are steep ramps so only the smallest overlap. Planning on using the sports rear box that came with the tam but with good centre box silencing to keep nose levels acceptable
