LS2 Tamora starter removal & refit.
Discussion
I had mine converted to fly by wire and the response is 100 times better, mind you I did have " that " converters cable arrangement in place before. I also have the odd time where the starter doesn't engage fully so I suppose it's more cash layout for bell housings etc. can anyone enlighten me on the cost, hassle factor and way to go from there own experience ?

Ah, it's a standard TVR T56 I believe, as came in the car from TVR themselves.
The std TVR one for al T-cars / Cerbs and Chims / Griff is a T5.You can fit a T56 (on the back of most ls engine when manual in std mass made cars). You must have an adaptor plate to get to the ls most likely via a t56 bellhousing.
tko is 5 speed, about same size as your t5, and easier fit
6 speed is t56 or latterly 6060. both same family casing, but much bigger than tko
6 speed will be more demanding to fit, and exhauts will be lower.
its a 6 speed going in my tam as i really prefer the shift, and 6th cruising is v relaxed, i dont know of another t car with 6 speed box, so making fitment up as i go along.
its tight but doable...

+1 for never having fly by wire best thing i ever did getting rid of, i run an emereld like you and have a big mouth fast throttle on and i have to say manners and response are impeccable.
The fbw can be costly in set up time to get dialled in right & then still left me feeling disconnected from the car.
As for the starter issue it was one of the main problems on the griff with its tighter chassis compared to the T cars and the Cerb, went through 3 or 4 different competition starters and finally had to install heat shielding due to the starters proximity to the engine and exhaust!
Big heat soak of 6.2lt's in the summer
