You only lives once, so buy this machine.
When I go out for a ride with the Tuscan, and I went back and take the wedge(420 seac) it looks like I step into a vauxhall.
That's the diferent between the Tuscan road legal and the
other TVR's
I hope to see you all on Zolder with the Tuscan road l egal.

Anything will fit into anything with enough time, effort and cost. I looked at dropping a mustang SOHC or cammer twin cam into mine, but the Small Block Chevy is an easier fit (ie no significant chassis mods).

The ohc and cammer fords are wider than the SBC, and given that my SBC has maybe 3mm clearance at the chassis rails, then there would be chassis mods required, not just a new set of mounts. Not the end of the world though. £3K is a great price for a fairly new engine and box, and I guess with the supercharger it's making around 375BHP? Maybe the only other issue would be if you wanted loads more power it would work out more costly than an SBC.

But yes, if this engine/box was up for sale when I was sourcing an engine/box for mine, then I'd have been mighty tempted.

Agree with all tvrlet sed re the size, the 4 cammer is even wider and doubtful that would fit.

Chevy rules...

Pictures of that prototype show a neatly trimmed, smooth lined car, which boasted a hot Rover V8 under the bonnet.

Perhaps a bit of a surprise was that that prototype had the standard 350i engine. I suppose that TVR thought that with that power to weight and chassis 200bhp was enough for the public.

I wanted mine to be as close to how it finished its last race @ Brands in 03...apart from what was needed to make it road legal...so it was never intended to have a good paint finish, creature comforts etc...carpet...pah !....stickers and scuff marks...thats how it was meant to be.

So far its cost 20,300 and goin fine, looks ***kin ace IMHO and goes like hell.

And I love it...but then I may be a bit biased.

I have a road legal, 2 seat race Tuscan for sale powered by its original 420hp race prepared Rover 4.5 V8. 0 - 100mph in 7.6 seconds. It's fully rebuilt and ready to demolish everything in sight at your next track day.

Much improved with 18" wheels and AJP Tuscan brakes and dampers since this PH article was written.

i'd stick with the SBC or a LSx engines. the four camersare the size (width wise anyway) of a big block!!!!! plus i think the LSx and SBC have great power potencial and (lsz) are lighter.

thnaks Chris.

I was just wondering... If many Tucan's we're sold without engine or without engine/drivetrain, how much did they cost then?

Also know of some bodyshells that we're sold seperatly, anyone any idea how expencive those are?

Does anyone know the person who has put a Tuscan racer body on a Wedge chassis? The car is pictured at the Tuscan Racer history article.

Mmm, why has this suddenly appeared at the bottom of the PH homepage? Still, interesting thread. I wonder where the car is now?

I'm wondering this too. I've also seen a few thread-resurrection type images appearing at the foot of my screen.
