@davep, after discussion with Rob we decided on the Mk1 version as it's a smaller capacity engine (4.5L).

@Else, measuring with a very unscientific ruler it looks like 43mm inlet & 37mm exhaust.

Compared to your Wildcat heads, yes no contest. Not even in the same league I'm afraid, but to be fair, the V8D heads weren't in the same price bracket either.

By my crude measurement mine are 50mm and 42mm.

Apologies all, feels like this is turning into a "mines bigger than yours" contest!

Hmmm, that's interesting. Will have to re-check these dimensions. Are yours the V8D stage IV heads Andy?

How cute, only 50mm. My intake is 51mmtongue out. I'm embarrassed to say my exhaust valves are only 41mmirked.

They'll look good on a 996 Howard ;-)

What you going with cam wise?
Also, have you seen the new JE front cover and pump? Suit yours a treat I'd have thought...

I think my Buick 300 heads have 1.75in inlets and 1.5 exhaust valves. The ports are huge, the inlet manifold had to be welded up and opened out because the ports in the heads went up higher than the standard manifold would cover. The Rover inlet manifold gaskets wouldn't go high enough either, so we used P76 ones.

Somehow managed to crack three liners so the engine is out again so I thought I'd take a few pics and post them here.

Hi All
Been a veiwer and a Chim owner for many years but never posted. So here goes. If Else still looks at this post can you tell me where you got the alloy pipe made up for the twin plenum set-up? Its just what I've been after for my set-up on the Chim. Or failing that if anybody knows of a good fabricator to copy whats in the pic on this post, please let me know.

Just been looking at those head pics again .. I think the engine's been built back to front hehe those exhaust ports look like they'll flow better as inlet ports than the inlet ports will. Next step might be to have the heads made with the inlet valves and exhaust valves swapped, and the inlet manifolds on the outside of the heads and the exhaust manifolds running down the centre of the vee smile
And I'm only half joking!
