Hi, going to remove driveshaft bolts and add some loctite. Q which type? And just on the thread? Cheers

at work the fix we ahve done in the past is loctite the shaft and splines to eliminate the clicking.

Cheers les, so loctite on the bolt thread and tighten? When you say splines do you mean squirt some in the hole the bolt goes in? And anŷ particular type of loctite? Sorry for being a bit thick, mechanical I ain't

Removed bolts, liberal loctite. Left overnight, next morning drove off, CLICK. Argh..

You need to loctite the driveshaft in place, not just the driveshaft bolt. I've had this problem with my S60 too - first time I had the driveshaft splines greased which was OK for over a year and then started to click again - I then had some loctite put on them and they've been fine ever since.

Ah, thats beyond my skills.. I just thought it was the bolts, might have to live with it.. Bloody annoying especially with the window down or in multi storeys
