Still going strong after 125,000 miles (which I know in Volvo terms is "just run in" smile)

My 2000 V40 1.8

Only had it a couple of months

When I bought it was completely standard on steelies with trims and a knackered cloth interior - £600 with tax and long MOT

Wheels were £80 off ebay
Complete T4 Heated leather interior was another £80
T4 Sports leather steering wheel £20
Wood dash centre trim £15

I've changed the oil, all the filters and plugs

Only significant expense has been replacement of the VVT pulley which was rattling its nuts off and fitted a new genuine cambelt & tensioner kit - not cheapfrown but I really like the car and the cambelt was the worst I've ever seen - the specialist I took it to reckoned it was the original belt - the car has just clocked 100k !

I've got a Garage entry and Readers' Cars thread going for my first Volvo, a spec-tastic V60 D5 SE Lux. I'm more pleased with it than almost all of my old performance cars:

My beloved 854 t5 (manual) in a bit of a smash recently but being fully repaired and should be as good as new when finished! Well that's the plan anyway

I've just worked out that your photos are in Abbots Leigh. I live in Portishead and work in Pill.

The photo of the cop car with 'EDL' numberplate - made me laugh! (See page 1)

Herewith the teabag;

Currently nudging 143k. Bought blind from Autotrader ad - car was 354 miles away! Offered £500 off asking price offer open 5 hours only...accepted. Made payment and flew up to Edinburgh following week to collect, then drive home to Kent.

Had all the bits I wanted - family pack, 7 seater, winter pack, xenons, and fvsh.

My 2.4T

In bits at the moment as I'm replacing a split CV boot but the driveshaft is well and truly stuck in the hub. Going to buy a hub puller tomorrow, if that doesn't work it's going to a garage.

In a world of grey and silver cars it does seems to catch peoples eyes. I think the car was available in a dark blue too, which was also stunning.
