Had my C70 T5 on the road for a couple of weeks, it drinks fuel but otherwise was going well until
Yep, the dreaded window regulator. A new one is £550, I only paid £750 for the car!!!
Managed to pick up a new wiring kit and set about fitting it this aft
It wasn't too bad to build up, but was tricky to get back into the door and adjust!
Now we're back to this
110k on her, full service history all the way, standard sat nav and generally good condition!

Here's my beloved V70 2.5 diesel bought in Belgium June 1999....car was in my sisters name for 6 months out there, then she "sold" it to me, saving me £7.5k on the UK price.
The car has been great, has required a new rear window due to faulty alarm about 7 years ago, at 75k required new rear disc's, has just had front and rear disc's, and new handbrake shoes, with n/s/f bearing, and now on 153k. A few years ago it also required a new window motor and side mirror glass. A problem with loss of power and engine management light constantly on was eventually traced to the peak flow metre, where on changing the power came straight back again within a couple of miles! It had a small oil leak, which they repaired, and looks like it is going again. The garage said that if they changed it again it is likely to start leaking again....so leaving it for now as the tray is catching it all.
It has had several long runs in it's time down to Southern Germany, and managed the journey of 680 miles with 3 adults 2 children and full boot....booting it especially in Germany where the wife restricted me to 100 mph when it was de restricted, and at the fuel station I refilled it...it took 71 litres to refill. It has also towed a caravan too heavy for it several times all over France, where it still managed over 30 mpg! we are currently getting about 42-45 mpg. When I bought it I said I'd like to keep it for about 20 years plus getting at least 200k out of it....almost everyone laughed at me, especially as it was a diesel....well some of them have had some 3/4 cars in that time, and we are still running it on "fiesta" money......I think I have had the last laugh. It has it's MOT due in May, and I suspect it will be good for another year. I think spending a few hundred quid a year on it is cheaper than buying another car.....but I bet it passes like it has every other MOT. I believe that getting it serviced once a year/10k is what has kept it going so well. It has had a badly resprayed bonnetwhen last summer a kid smashed into the front of it on a scooter putting a 12" down to the metal scratch on it.....other than that just loads of polish!

Having done 30,000 miles or so in the V70, when it was written off in an accident I always fancied trying an XC70 - fell in love and bought the best I could find...
Meet "Hank" - 2007 XC70 D5 [185] SE Lux Geartronic - Ex Volvo manager car with almost every possible extra
The day we brought him home:
Always fancied an XC as my work often requires motorway miles and a bit of ground clearance without going full Defender...
AWD comes in handy for the less wonderful parking spots
Absolutely loving it so far, the auto-box really suits the engine and the suspension plus 16" wheels just soak up the UK roads making travelling for work much more relaxing...

Finally got time to give the Sweed it's first polish and wax of the new year...
2 bucket wash with Meguires Gold Class shampoo, Autoglym ultra deep polish on the rotary, P.B. Nattys wax by hand and Meguires endurance tyre gel on the tyres and trims
Not the most in-depth session but it's a start
And now, the pictures...

Martin I really do like the Black and White theme you have going on on that^^^^
It Looks so much better than if it was all white, really smart buddy.
Thanks Chris It Looks so much better than if it was all white, really smart buddy.
I was gutted yesterday - some little st had attempted to remove one of the eyebrows and snapped it! Gonna glass it back together and maybe wrap it with carbon or something a bit more shiny. Not sure yet.
bds!
Very nice (as always) Martin. Sorry to hear about the thieving scrote.
I wrecked my ankle so apologies for not posting the interior pics of the shed mate. I'm on crutches.
Now even though mine is a silver 940, this little number in the Le Mans thread looks interesting. http://www.creative-vinyl.com/578-volvo-850-1994-b...
Securicor branding on the school run for £140? Mrs. PP rolled her eyes but didn't actually say no, which in my book is as good as a yes.
Chris; my old XC90.

My old 850 T5 wagon had the full BTCC vinyl kit in the boot when I bought it...well it would have but I told the seller to keep it, it wouldn't have looked very good where I live I wrecked my ankle so apologies for not posting the interior pics of the shed mate. I'm on crutches.

Each to their own and all that, with the odd exception I don't like race replica paint on motorbikes either.
You should do it on your 940 though.
Shame your XC90 had to go that was a stunning looking one.
