I'm hoping one of you guys can help me with a little electrical issue. My drivers side foot well light is not always turning off when I shut the door, it normally takes about 5-10 attempts for it to go off. Okay slightly annoying but I can live with it, then last week it would come on whenever I hit a pothole, speed bump or any uneven bit of road which is basically every road here. Now it has decided to come on by itself, as in I left it last night with everything off and I've just walked past it and it's on! I'm going to get my local garage to check it out when I have all my brakes done but that won't be for a couple of weeks, for now is there a fuse or anything I can disconnect to keep it off permanently as I don't want it to drain my battery.

Any tips and advice welcome! smile

^this

There will be a fuse but on my 2000 C70 (fuse 15) it does all the interior lights and the alarm.

That'll be a microswitch in the door lock unit, it is repairable, very common fault. Have a search on the Volvo owners club forum for microswitches on the first shape V70s.

My C70's passenger door has died in this respect recently as none of the lights are working when its opened - as already said its an easy fix - sometimes they just need a lube up too.......Or just take the bulb out......
