My info shows as requiring an air bag service. Another site says that if the airbag check light goes out, it just needs resetting.
So is anyone out there near Reading who has the required piece of kit to do it.
Couple of bottles of wine offered

It's worth registering on the Volvo owners club forum and asking there, plenty folks have the right kit.

I'm a few hundred miles too far north to make the free booze offer worthwhile. If alcohol gets banned up here I'll be down shortly biggrin

As above. The guys on VOC http://www.volvoforums.org.uk should be able to help.
If the warning light goes off while you're driving then it's not an MOT fail iirc but don't quote me on that.

Get it plugged into Vida and check to see if there's a fault, fix whatever it is (usually nothing but could be a seat connection somewhere) and then clear the codes/faults.

Wasn't me that replied was it? I'm a bit closer than Bristol (Melksham currently, soon to be Southampton)

I will ,however, be travelling along the M4 next Tuesday, eastbound early in the morning and westbound in the afternoon if you fancy meeting in a services somewhere, should take all of about five minutes to reset your airbag light...

I've got the same problem on my S60 too. And a alarm system service urgent message too.

What kit do I need to solve the problem myself? I have the feeling it's going to keep returning, so would rather have the bit required to do it myself.

VIDA and a DiCE unit

VIDA is the Volvo diagnostic software, DiCE is the hardware that connects USB to the OBDII port on the car

Genuine Volvo kit is £many thousands - Chinese copies are available on ebay for considerably less...

You haven't seen me with computers have you? I can make an ordinary calculator have a mental breakdown, so God knows what would happen if i connected up this Dice to the car and a laptop. Total failure of the National grid i would guess.
I keep my expertise ( what there is of it) to things i can see and work out. eg have just fettled up a worn axle by turning it down, running a sleeve slightly oversize and heat shrinking it on. Then turning back to size. Simple, but computers!!!!!! i have a couple of bottles of red or white or one of each if you prefer to someone that could check it out, and like the wine i will travel up to 40 miles from Reading!!!!
Knowing my luck, it will need a full airbag service, and anything else, but i would like to try the more honest evaluation first

So any Winos out there?
