My 2005 V70 2.5T seems to to have a short battery life if the ignition is on but not started (ignition off and it holds charge OK)

e.g. at the station dropped my phone, switched the ignition on but not started - eventually retrieved the phone - a few minutes: car would not start

Called recovery who also tested the battery and said it was fine

So any suggestions for an emergency jump start pack ?

Sounds like a drain from somewhere. Get a multimetre across the battery and start pulling fuses to isolate which part of the electrical is drawing the power.

Might be a boot light or glovebox light/similar.

yep, as above something is draining it - Bootlight is very common but does tend to drain things with the ignition off too - has it got an after market stereo in it or are you leaving a mobile/sat nav cahrger plugged in at all times?
