Hi all

Looking at the above tomorrow, it's done around 60k miles. Are they reliable, what's the realistic MPG? Any know faults?

Thanks

Hainey

A good friend has one on a 2004 plate, now on 160k. It's not been faultless but neither has it been a dog. It's feeling its miles now though, and will be seeing the scrapper next year most likely.

Compare that to a D5 which is just breaking itself in at those miles and well, you can draw your own conclusions.

They are pretty good if looked after. DMF can go but generally the Volvo applications tend to more reliable than the ford and Peugeot offerings of the same engine. Worst thing about them is the typically "diesel" sound track - D5 is much nicer engine on all fronts.

Expect a dpf replacement from 75k miles service interval. Removed engine cover and look for carbonising round the injectors. Check alloys for buckles. And the usuals really.
