Morning chaps,

I have a Volvo V40 D2 (MY2012, one of the first ones). Yesterday, a kind gentleman smacked my wing mirror causing damage to the drivers side indicator lens which is contained within the mirror, but as a removable part.

The driver never stopped, and I want to replace the smashed lens as it makes the car look unsightly.

Trouble is, for love nor money I cannot find the UK part number or a mirror indicator lens for sale for the 1st edition V40s anywhere online!

I do know three things:
- The indicator lens changed from a fat one to a thin one after 2013 (I have the fat one)
- It does look very similar to the ones on the V50/V70 of the same year.
- The yank Volvo website has an exploded diagram of the mirror and states that they are interchangeable between models, but the lenses I see on UK sites say they aren't (or at least do not list the V40 in their compatibility charts.

Does anyone know if the indicator lenses within the mirrors from any other Volvo models will fit? A whole mirror assembly is £150.00!!

Any help appreciated - sources and other info below..

Mirror looks like this:

Link to the yank Volvo parts site:
http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/products/Volvo/V...

And from that, the bit where it states compatible models:

The fat indicator lenses are still used on the ES model variant as you can see in this 2015 ES:
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/volvo/v40/us...

Therefore the part number you should need is the one you already found on the volvopartwebstore (#31111090) for the Left hand lens should do the trick. If you search for that number in google it will bring up more examples (from UK and EU sites) saying it is compatible with with the V50, V70 etc.

Hope that helps. smile

Strange thing: the car you posted the autotrader link for is from Inverness, I'm from Inverness! Odd.

Anyway, many thanks for your help, and after further research you were indeed correct about the part number.

Managed to snag one for £19.99 just moments ago.

Case closed. Many thanks.
