Hi all,
I have been living in the UK for 9 months and my first car here is a 02 Corolla 1.4 VVT-i

I want to swap it for a better car between December/March (after I have saved some money) and one of the cars I always loved is the S60 T5 (first model).

Back in Portugal, Volvo parts are very expensive because Volvo didn't sell that good (at least compared to BMW, Mercedes and Audi), so I wonder if the same happens in the UK?
Other than the S60, I love the E46 30i, but if Vovlo parts are not much more expensive I think I would prefer the Volvo for now.

Thank you for your help.

I wouldn't say their parts are anymore expensive than the likes of the German cars. There are ways to buy cheaper elsewhere rather than through the dealerships too.

My 2007 V70 shares suspension parts with the Ford Mondeo Mk4. This is bad, because they wear out prematurely, but also good because they can be bought cheaply.

However, you do still tend to get what you pay for, e.g. a £60 front wheel hub from partsforvolvosonline.com failed after just 1000 miles. In this case I went and replaced it with a Volvo item for 4x as much, as I couldn't stand the thought of dismantling the front suspension again after only 1000 miles. (Fingers crossed after 2500 miles).

If you are not doing the maintenance yourself, I would recommended finding a good, trusted, local independent Volvo garage.

Still a great car and a very nice place to be for motorway commutes.
