it's not even well spec's. Or at least no mention of heated electric seats, dolby stereo etc.
Dolby is standard on the SE. It appears to have heated seats.

The low mileage is uncommon. And I have to say that low mileage, together with a decent history, helped me overlook some of the bodywork on mine.

The difference between Euro 3 and Euro 4 seems to be a well-kept secret though, when I was looking, most people didn't know what Euro emissions are (fair enough) but they also didn't know the difference it made between models. So generally I think the market acts on age/mileage like it does for other cars, as opposed to a difference in desirability between a Euro3 engine and a later Euro4 - even if some people do know better wink

Hi Volvo Onwers, im going to purchase this s60 d5 tomorrow as a daily commuter/workhorse
My budget was very tight so it was always going to have to be a high miler, but if the service history is as topped up as the seller says then all should be well.
Couple of questions; no tax, how much is 6months tax on these d5's?
Also common faults or problems that i could check for before handing over the cash?

Thanks for your help

I think that you need to satisfy yourself that's what you want before the end of the auction really - my view is always that you bid, you buy - unless the car is clearly not as described when you turn up.

He has said the car runs fine and has no problems

If i can find a problem then the item is not as described

Any idea on the tax costs?

My 02 S60 D5 is £200 p/year to tax.
Can`t remember exactly how much for 6 months, around £110 - £120 ish rings a bell but I always tax for a year so not sure.

MissB's S60 D5 (My old car) went straight through MOT yesterday, tester once again commented on it being in great condition for the mileage...ran nice and clean on the emissions & smoke test too.

Good car.

So picked up my new daily commuter yesterday, S60 D5 SE

Been looking for a diesel for a while and came across the D5's and i'm so glad i did, what a car!!
So nice to drive, everything is in the right place, all the switches are easy to use, the stereo is great, and the seats must be the best seats i've ever sat in.

The car i bought also has had the Rica Stage 1 Remap so benefits from 204bhp/435Nm, a joy to drive a car with this torque figure even compared to my V6 Honda

The trip computer is still averaging 53mpg too, but i have seen you guys saying it over reads by a few mpg

Here she is next to my Honda Legend Show Car

Right then chaps, wonder if anyone can help with this. My Euro 3 D5 struggles to start when hot. Turn the key as normal, it fires, I let go of the key and it stalls. If I keep the key in place; as if to keep trying to start the car, for another second, it's fine. Any ideas? It happens most times I start the car with a hot engine. Absolutely fine when cold.

On a side note, I cleaned out the EGR system the other day. Quite a lot of sooty gunk came out, no surprise. No real change to the way it runs, but it won't have done any harm.

Cheers all.

Mine fires like normal, and then cuts out. Irritating, though, isn't it.

Ok im pretty sure the reason for my car struggling to start and going into limp mode was because i may have put petrol in instead. Since filling up with diesel again she starts first time and no limp mode

That's a fair amount to lop off after only 5 days for sale... £2500 down to £2150

£2150 is still strong money for a car with 162k on the clock, however good the history is.

Very cheap. The mileage will put lots of people off. Could be a bargain for someone!
