DPF issue - whats that then and how much to fix?

Yes that gives a brief explanation but unsure exaclty what the issues is, if you had the vehicle can you do anything to pre-emptively sort it and finally whats the cost for this and if it goes wrong?

I figure a 500 quid fix for a car isnt really worth not buying one but if its a few grand thats a whole different toaster of chickens.
