Posted in General Gassing, but need to track down whether the trim on the rear windows is removable without need to take window out on an 09 V70.

If anyone could help much appreciated before I make endless calls !

Thankyou!

Trim on rear window has been replaced at some point and I want to replace back to the shadow line trim as it doesnt match 100%.

Dealership said window has to come out to replace, so I just want to know if the trim/seal comes out to replace it back to the shadow line.

Drop me a mail if that doesnt make sense as I have a pic.

I work as a Panel Beater at a Volvo Garage in Sweden. Do you mean the rear side windows on an Estate car ? Bit like a hockey stick ? They come off quite easily. I will double check tomorrow as I need to see one to be sure.
Off the tope of my head, removing a couple of T27 Torq screws and a well inserted polyurathane wedge usually does the trick. Window does not need to come out.

Thats interesting - yes the rear windows (usually says Volvo Guard on the back) just after the back doors - quite a big piece of glass.

Oh dear. Sorry to get your hopes up but for some reason I thought it was a -02 model. I got confused with the 850 / early V70. Your car does not have the "Hockey stick" it has a diagonal trim by the door...please conferm..
Send me that picture to clarify matters. I can give you a concrete reply after work on Monday.
When I lived in Gothenberg, Sunday lunch at a Pub frequented by the ex-pat comunity was full of Volvo workers both from the design and IT departments and of course the line. Peter Horbury ( Chief designer) would sometimes appear and get a large round in.
The facilities where I work are amazing for a body shop and only top qaulity work goes out. For example the welds on the joins of sill replacment or rear quarter replacement are tapped down and lead loaded.

Thanks for the very kind offer and to the other member who helped out on this one, unfortunate that according to the system window does have to come out - which is going to be a fun bill for the garage to pick up (yes I am that picky).

Shame bodyshops in this bloody place dont have such high standards - its all slap dash.
