Could be tempted here ...... One of these (in stock)

And some custom decals becomes one of these!

Although I'd prefer to model the Biba cosmetics version - it's Chris Meek's multiple championship winner (production sportscar) for those not familiar with Europas

If you try to get too prescriptive it all gets a bit anoraky and tedious. A racing car is a car designed or modified for racing. That could be a dedicated pure racing car (like an F1 car) or something like a MkII Jag or a Ciroen 2CV with numbers on the door.

The main thing is that the model does not look like a common or garden road car with no racing modifications.
Question, then - following this. I have an Initial D-style RX-7 kit (shown below) which I've already started (a little).

That's not close enough to being a racing car, despite the bodykit bits, right? I am intending to paint it as per the pictures in the above link.

It'd save me scouring ebay for cheap racing car kits if I could pass that off as being part of this tongue out

Stick a racing number on it, tape the headlamps up, and almost any car becomes eligible.

I've hunted high and low and can't find my Tamiya Lotus 7. I need a better stock control system.

I have a few other 1/20 cars in the pile so there might be a change of plans if the 7 doesn't turn up.

Might be worth looking for it filed under "1:24 cars" Eric.

For some unknown reason, the smaller series Tamiya F1 cars are 1:20, Tamiaya Sports Cars are 1:24.

Found it in the loft - lurking in a carrier bag.
It's probably too late now to get it done by the 31 July deadline but I might as well make a start.

I'll do it as a sprint/hill climb competition car to keep it in the spirit of the GB.

I'm out. Didn't have the time due to working long hours and moving house.

Won't have time to build any kits. I'm going to sell all of them. If anyone is interested in some Tamiya , Aoshima or Fujimi kits. Feel free to message me.

Sorry to hear that. I can't e-mail you, but I might be interested in the Tamiya stuff if you list it, plus I'm on the lookout for a Fujimi Honda Prelude.

Cheers.

Cool. Don't have a Prelude model.

Tamiyas are Honda Accord and Nissan Primera JTCC cars.

Hi guys, after a long time away I am tempted to get back into scale models, both RC and static. I have been reading a few threads on here and the "Group Build" puzzles me. What is the aim of it? Will all the models be used for a display, or is it as simple as having something to build and talk about with others doing a similar one?

I've taken part in both group builds and I'm a bit puzzled too.
