So the building has been continuing...

Number 5:

Number 6:

This one was a bit of a surprise, never seen or heard of it before, but it has got a motor driven compressor, 4 pneumatic valves and 5 cylinders, making it a bit of a plumbing nightmare!

Number 7:

The scale of what I have undertake is starting to dawn, it was 4 weeks ago I collected it and have built 7 kits, if there really are 29 in there, this might take another 12 weeks!

yikes

Wow I remember building that 'a few' years ago. At the time it seemed really complex but after the recent Unimog and Crane it looks so simple biggrin

I remember reading alt.toys.lego and rec.toys.lego about 20 years ago and the Airtech Claw Rig was always spoken of very highly then. Never massively appealed to me. IIRC there was a fair bit of discussion about the effectiveness of the compressor.

The compressor is driven via a belt from the motor, and unless you are using the pneumatics, the compressor stalls and the belt slips, open a valve and all is well.

Got a few sets to move on. Will prob stick them on ebay but would happily give PistonHeaders first refusal. Is there a way to do this that doesn't break any forum rules?

Toothbrush on the studs to get rid of the dust, yes? It does take a while to disassemble a model that's been out for a long time!

I'm interested in the Crawler but I doubt I'd pay what you'll get elsewhere!

I'm surprised there are no bids on this yet (at 09:15), with 9 hrs to go!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lego-Technic-8851-Pneuma...

PS I'm in no way affiliated to the seller, Mods please remove if I've broken a rule. I was just looking for some pneumatic spares.

Not that surprising, without instructions it puts a lot of collectors off. At £15 its about market value, people generally want a bargain.
That's true, but if someone (like me) just wanted it to build it and keep it, then it's not bad, I may go for it myself (if I can't find any pneumatic spares to by).
