They appear to be much cheaper on eBay, or are you after a brand new one?
To be fair I wouldn't be too bothered whether it was brand new or not, but I would happily pay a reasonable amount extra to have an unopened one- I guess I just like that 'getting new Lego' experience... hehe

There are a couple of second hand ones on Amazon too which are a bit cheaper- but as much as I'd like one there is no way I would spend over £250 for one!

Looks like I'll have to settle for the flatbed truck 8109 for my next fix.

Just ordered the Rock Crawler as something regressive to do on my week off! Also going to look in the loft and see what state my 90s JCB is in, seem to recall it needed a few replacement parts. Might see which Lego City I kept as well, although I sold the majority of my Lego many years ago, regret that now as I had so many great sets.

I've been asked to sell a friend's 41999 on eBay (he's moving to the US and doesn't want the hassle).

Any ideas what I should list it for? Tempted to make him an offer myself - is £200 fair?

I'm not actually selling, merely asking - but fair point.

Selling on the forums usually gets you shouted at by Haymarket towers.

That would be a bargain. I sold one of my 41999 sets on the bay of flees in January for £350 + £10 P&P, so walked away with £300 after fees and postage.

As an aside the guy that way buying up all the stock when the kits ran out last year must be kicking himself now as he was paying £325+ per kit. He had 100 or so when I went to see him so at todays rates he would be loosing money selling via ebay unless he is still sat on them.

Lego properly played everyone with 41999. 20,000 sets were made, they bigged up that it was a "limited edition", instantly sending 19,000 of them to ebay. I reckon only about 272 of the sets have ever been actually constructed biggrin
