When I checked last night they had 1 left, but they are out of stock now.

They were a good price, I probably should have got myself one before I told everyone, lol.

I finally got round to making the B model of 42025 Cargo Plane. It wasnt a bad build, but I dont think its the best looking model. The kids enjoyed playing with it though.

The fans, and the front loading bay are motorised, the steering is manual.

I enjoyed it. I thought it was a good build, and its quite big once its built, and the engines, landing gear and front loading bay are motorised. The flaps are manual. There are a lot of the fixed shape pieces and stickers though.

This afternoon I've finished the Technic Pickup 42029 that I ordered from Russ at the same time as the Volvo.

It wasn't a bad build, and I quite like the truck although some people have been fairly critical of it. The bottom pics show it with the wheels from the 4x4 Crawler on, which I think make it look better. I'm also now going to add the motor functions to it.

Finally succumbed & bought 10225 R2D2 from a well known high street retailer beginning with A & ending with S.

It came down the chute & I was given the box. It was slightly damaged. So I rejected it as I keep all my model boxes no matter what they are.

Was told that this was the only one left in stock, they were not expecting any more & a quick online check revealed no more anywhere within a 25 mike radius.

So I complained about damaged box, limited supply of R2D2 etc & guess what?

The store manager refunded me £25.00 & let me keep the £5 money off voucher that I had just been given.

Result - R2D2 for just £125.00!!!!!!

Bargain, I was lucky and got the R2D2 when it was on three for two at Christmas with said retailer. I have got as far as opening one of the boxes but no building yet...

I love the look of R2D2, but when I saw the actual completed size it looked disappointing for the price. Same goes for the X-Wing, although it's huge, the build time and technicality of it isn't enough to justify the cost to me. So, I think my next Lego purchase will be the mobile crane, a bigger model, longer build time and more challenging for a fraction of the cost. I like the Star Wars UCS range, but for the price they have to be bigger or take a while to build, like the SSD and Death Star I have.

Help me out folks, I need to find a modern equivalent of the 8448 Super Car..
It's not in production any more and the only one on Amazon is listed at £599!
I used to have it, but it's been largely destroyed and I no longer live in the same house.
I'm feeling the need to build something as vehicularly accurate (double wishbones all round, dog leg box, etc)..

Maybe:

http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstruc... and
http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstruc...

together with

http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/8448-1

and

Your Parts +
http://www.bricklink.com

wink

Otherwise, you could try some of Crowkillers' (http://www.crowkillers.com/) or Sheepo's (http://www.sheepo.es/) models

just wondered do many of you now a decent cabinet for the models or just tend to fit on top of units .

also love what kapiteinlangzaam , has done & if every got the time & patience to do would be doing something similar

For anyone considering this, don't, it was rubbish. Expensive for what it was, no real imagination put in to it, just used to fund someone's collecting. I was expecting a room bigger than my lounge and at least some custom builds.

That's a shame, the ones I have helped with have been reasonably big(when you consider everyone buys the models/bits to build the models themselves and pays for their own transport to the event and hotel stay etc if required etc), Not sure what goes on down south though, the one at the end of July had just over 4000 visitors over 2 days.
