Im in, ill have 1000 please. Let me know what postage costs are...

Great deals these, but they annoy me! £113 is significantly less than I pay direct from LEGO! These 3 for 2 deals just end up fueling a load of knobs who buy to sell on eBay and undercut all our prices for the next few weeks!
It's alright, no joy. Will only let me order one. It does seem out of line to restrict certain lines and either have differential pricing that favours the big boys or they take a loss leader.

Off topic, but will you be getting dimensions? My boy has just seen the advert and I doubt his Christmas list will contain much else!

I agree with you to an extent however I'm not that sympathetic as its business. It's similar to the local toy shops moaning about online vendors having lower overheads. As a consumer it's great news.

Maybe a bit soft an un-powerfully PH of me, but I've saved enough pennies through Russ's group buys to keep me a) well stocked with lego - still got 4 big kits sitting unopened to tackle - and b) fairly happy to wait for the next round of group buys!

I'm not asking for sympathy, and fully aware it's great for consumers - it just annoys me at how cheap some of this stuff goes out at as it causes me extra grief (people who buy at a higher price get on the blower to return)!

Theres a lot more to it with regard to prices/overheads, Toy Shop sob stories are often just that. For the past few years a lot of manufacturers have realised completely new prcing structures - all designed to put the prices up for online. LEGO were one of the first to implement and actually put prices up by 15% for everybody, however you could earn back up to 13% if you met certain selling criteria. As you can guess the criteria is completely geared towards bricks and mortar - a Toy shop making a good effort with LEGO instore will be buying product at ca. 10% cheaper than any online seller. You take the 42043 we're talking £10+ on every single set...

As for overheads online, it's not as it once was. Buyers are different to what they were several years back demand for faster shipping, comprehensive returns has raised costs & tons of competition (low barrier to entry) has killed margins.

I hope you get some good deals out of Argos - drop me a PM if they're out of stock...

SWAY - really wanted to and opened an account straight away, but no dimensions on order yet. Margins are pointless, better off filling the pallet spaces with more city/minecraft/technic.

No worries chap, let me know if you do get any in - think the starter set plus some themed add ons are in order for Christmas.

After 3 hours of driving round look what I managed to get...

Sadly didn't realise how big they are and would be a pain to post anywhere. If anyone wants to collect one from York at a price of £115 drop me a message.

The Mrs pointed out to me that would be losing out at £115 cos of petrol etc. I've one left if anyone wants to collect for £120 they are more than welcome.

I absolutely loved the build, but as we don't have the space, it had to come apart.

Taking it apart was awful, really slow, fiddly, and boring.

I find dismantling Lego, especially the Technic stuff, to be very therapeutic smile

Sorry Russ, my post was more prickish than I intended when I wrote it.

Thanks for explaining about the margins as well. That I wasn't aware of!

I need help! I have been trying to get over my desperation to find an 8109 recovery truck as they go for silly money, but I keep coming back to it.

Best price I've found on ebay is £100. Any pointers as to where I might be able to find one a little cheaper? Or is that as good as its going to get?

Thanksnuts

Stop tempting me! You're only 30 minutes away, but I have told myself I cannot afford that this month...

A big thanks to alexFR!

I took delivery of my Arocs today. Even with next day postage and beer tokens it was substantially cheaper than anywhere else.

This is being taken to my parents house today and will be stashed away until Christmas. If the fiance finds out about it I'm in big trouble! hehe

Here it is next to 42009 (birthday present for November) and 42006 excavator I bought about a month ago. The anticipation of these builds is killing me....

Building the 42009 crane & all seems to be working fine however on step 39 for the boom I am struggling to figure out where the 3rd & final piece of string is meant to go/look through.

Currently it is just hanging down but all the mechanics seem to be working fine, anybody shed any light on this?
