Whilst we are on the subject of the crane.
The stabilisers on mine extend from the main body no problem but the up and down bit is very laboured. The cogs are all the correct way round it just seems to take a lot of slipping clutches and non mechanically sympathetic noises for them to extend.
Any hints ?

Mine did that but I actually found often it was caused by the red cog on the 4 way not being central on the row not used and only partially in on the one required. The stabilisers on mine extend from the main body no problem but the up and down bit is very laboured. I am also under-impressed with the 1H sets. Probably won't get any of them.http://brickset.com/article/17222/more-toys-r-us-2...
Pretty uninspiring for me
However the rumoured 2H sets could be good -
42053 Volvo EW160E (Digger)
42054 Claas Xerion 5000 TRAC (Tractor)
42055 Bucket Wheel Excavator (Unknown mining machine)
42056 Ultimate IP Car (Supercar)
The car is meant to be a new high end for Technic at 300 euros. Should have a full gearbox, suspension, motors basically everything for that price, if true.

They will be great kits in their own right no doubt, and I will be wanting every single one (also no doubt), but I can't help feeling that they will be too similar to other kits to have that special feeling of wondering how it's going to be put together, or how the functions will work, from looking at the pictures.
Then again, I'm probably getting too old to enjoy them as they were designed, I'm sure every 10 year old in the country will not have these concerns!

Now this bucket wheel excavator would be hell of a model...
Now that is one thing I'd love to build, I've been lucky enough to see these giants at work - but more impressive was them dwarfed in their natural habitat - lignite mining for power stations. Here is one excavator and 5 (similar but different) spreaders that distribute the spoil.20% off everything on eBay over £20 tonight until 10pm!
