Glad the code saved you all some dollar! The warehouse staff are going to complain when they all arrive shortly, they are expecting a typical fairly quiet friday - but will be shocked when they see what sold last night! Good Job eBay, I assume they will do something similar when Amazon start plugging their Black Friday stuff!!

Cheers.

Was the code just specifically for you? it seemed to take the code and apply the discount for all purchases but in the payment box it said 'code invalid' apart from the stuff purchased from your shop?

There was a max discount of £50, so maybe you went over that?

It was eBay wide but only on certain categories, so maybe the other items did not qualify...

They didnt really advertise it (it wasn't on their homepage), I think it was more of a quiet trial for something they have up their sleeve for end of Nov. Either way I made a fuss about it with our customers and our daily eBay sales were up 500%, not bad considering the promo only last 6hours from 4-10pm.

I cant mention cars for myself at the moment! We had a baby 2months ago and we just bought a little RR for the Mrs to ship baba around in....so whenever I say, "So, I have been thinking.....", she rolls her eyes and tells me, "If its about cars then I dont want to hear it!!"

So, I might wait until Christmas is out of the way and then re-start negotiations!!

Easier and less stressful for all to ask for forgiveness, instead of long drawn out negotiations for permission...

Well, this is the vey definition of frustration. I've been back building Lego for the last few years since my boy got old enough to appreciate it, but only small kits for him, nothing for me. I've convinced the mrs that he (now 5) and I can build the big Mercedes AROCS truck together, and she's agreed it's a good idea. I was planning to pay for it with Clubcard vouchers, because then it's FREE LEGO which is brilliant, right? However, Tesco are out of stock, no idea when they will get more in. I'm signed up for stock alerts on it, does anyone know if retailers (Amazon only have two left in stock at the moment) will be getting more deliveries before Christmas?

I'm not really bothered about getting it at Christmas if I'm honest, I just want to get one before they're gone forever! (Or I change my mind, or spend the vouchers on something else.)

I'd think twice about that. I think a 5yo will get bored pretty quick on a complex build of technics, lots of small fiddly bits. My 5yo is happy to do big non-technic but he still struggles with the more fiddly bits.

Obviously your experience may be different but I suspect it may be a frustrating time for both of you.

I will do 99% of it once he's in bed biggrin He's adept at building the Lego men but hasn't got the patience for much else! (It's a present for me.)

You realise it doesn't come with LEGO men, so you best buy a little starter set with some figures to build to keep him busy.

Or a stash of this seasons Lego figures.... If he really loves building Lego men you could always purchase him a Lego chess set to assemble. Don't know if you can still get them but I got the knights kingdom one last year direct from Lego as I've never seen them for sale anywhere else. Its actually quite a nice little thing to have hehe

Yeah, I made the Pirate Chess set, you even store all the parts in the base and stack it up when not in use.

Reassuring to see I'm not the only grown man who still likes Lego!

I dug my old 1980s/early 1990s Lego out of the loft last week for my 3-and-a-half year old daughter to play with. She likes the minifigs and building houses with the old basic blocks, doors, windows etc. I couldn't resist the Technic bits... 7 Technic models later, plus the Police Command station and a handful of small vehicles/spaceships, I seem to have regressed 20 years biggrin

Now eyeing up the shiny new big Volvo loader set. Y'know, just for comparison purposes, of course! wink
