Anyone is welcome to make an offer via PM, else it is going as a raffle prize for the local church Xmas fete!

Anyone bought/built the Yellow Submarine?

Picked up mine from ToysrUs tonight & got a nice little free-be - a set of six mini figures worth £10 so was quite happy with that.

Also noticed that the GT3 RS was now down to £199.99 so it's getting more tempting.

Ordered 2 from LEGO on double VIP points the other day. I should get a couple of the Christmas build sets too. Not arrived yet but they have been despatched

Even cheaper if you buy a 2nd hand set with the money going to charity...

It's discontinued and you will be lucky to find one under 200 quid. It appears to be a popular and appreciating model.

100% of the money will go to charity - depending on location I could even consider delivering the item (or at least meeting halfway).

At present, my best option is to raffle the set with tickets for say £2.50 each and hope we get 60-80 tickets sold, so that the charity gets £150-200, but I'm not sure whether there will be sufficient demand at a local church fete (not sure many people will appreciate this is a £200+ Lego set).

What a great idea! Sadly I already have a GT3RS so no requirement for a second.

Prior to purchasing the Lego GT3 RS, I hadn't enjoyed and Lego for 25+ years! It was always intention to purchase the RS, build it and then sell it on with the proceeds going to charity. (I'm on my local Church charity committee and we support two local and two international charities, so the money will be split between them).

Whist I did find it a really enjoyable build, there was never any question of me retaining it to build multiple times, but with a real GT3 (sadly not an RS) in the garage, it was fun to build the model!!

Interesting change of direction, good to see BMW involved, will there be a car? (I hope!)

Good God, that's bad. Still, on the bright side, it can't possibly be that Lego will be paying a licence fee to BMW for that. More likely that BMW will be paying Lego. So perhaps it'll be a freeby (like the London bus)!

I think the BMW looks decent, full on side shots are never a strong point for lego bikes (as you look straight through the frame bars), will be removing the carry cases though.

Me too - much better!

Although it would be better if it had fully working suspension, engine and gearbox, brakes etc.

It doesnt have a gearbox/brakes AFAIK, but suspension and engine surely are in there?

From what I can see, it has front and rear inboard suspension, working cylinders and a shaft-driven rear wheel. Pretty much the same level of technic-ness as most other Lego Technic motorbikes.

I like it, nice old-style Lego feel to it and interesting details.
