Regarding the GT3, I'm sure I read there was an error in the instructions and two gears the wrong way round? Is this likely to be fixed in the model that's arriving tomorrow? How can I tell? Is there a version number on the instructions anywhere?

There is a note from Lego somewhere saying that basically they swapped the gears so they are not properly sequential to make it all run more smoothly. All you have to do is swap two cogs over if you want it to be truly sequential. Makes very little difference either way and Lego won't be changing it.

Well I took the plunge and picked one up from Smyths for £179. I could have gone to John Lewis but some of the £10 difference would have been lost paying for parking, and the risk that they didn't have any in the shop.

From the moment you lift the lid you knows more special than the average set of Lego!
I've not built any Technics since the late 80's, so it's amazing seeing all the new bricks.
I've just put an hour into it and am so glad I got it.
If you're on the fence like I was, go and get it!!!

Just finished the Porsche build and loved it. Took the plunge and bought after Xmas and was in two minds but never looked back. First time back into Lego since a child, gave me some invaluable switch off and de-stress time.

Now got the bug the only question is, what next? Like the look of the Mercedes or the claas. Maybe the creator range too?

Yes...I got the bug after my wife bought me the Supercar for Christmas 3 years ago.. the rest is history as you can see from my post further up the page.. sinc then i've virtually had some build going on in the background all the time..! hehe

I'm really enjoying the Porsche build, I've just fitted the front suspension to the main chassis, so still a long way to go yet!
All I keep thinking when I'm putting it together is how complex it is, and how the hell do you start designing such a thing.
I really hope they do another car on a similar scale and level of detail.

The two Mercs (Unimog and the current one) are probably the very best Technic sets ever made in terms of building enjoyment, so personally I'd go for the Claas (which I will be getting soon) and then a Merc.

Some of the Creator and Ideas sets are very cool and enjoyable, but lack a little something for me compared to Technic.

I have lots of old Technic - mostly early 90's and kilos and kilos of legoland items all from the 80's & 90's

Would the best place to move these on be ebay? Or has anyone had any other results on other sites

Sorry for the off topic...

Is there much value in 2nd hand Technic kits?
We've LOADS at home. My daughters are now in their teens and can't be arsed to keep the stuff they've had as gifts in the past.
Since I kept all the boxes and instructions, I was thinking about punting them on and passing the € money back to my girls so they can spunk it on make-up an iTunes st.... as they usually do rolleyes
(I don't have any sons)

I'll have to make a list this weekend.
I've even got models I haven't opened yet, like the 42030 which is £199 on Amazon!

Intersting to see the VW Camper at €70 when it's without the box, and I have that one with everything.

Rebrickable has had an update and they now show the value of your sets ... not sure how it's valued. Need to keep this page away from SWMBO .....
